Nothing is free was our project for Art in Odd Places and it's sad truth is that it is a very pessimistic outlook. What is left if everything costs something and we are left to do nothing if we have nothing.
We were asked: "What will you do"? We answered: "nothing". "But really what will you do"? "Nothing, as nothing is free."
We stuck to it and did nothing for free during the festival, which in turn led us to not do anything. Instead, our son did something in a magic show today and got $5 for it. Is this it?
Luckily there were many free events during Art In Odd Places (AIOP).

John Craig Freeman Are you making the case that your project was not the result of "artistic effort?" If so, are you in violation of the Artist's Representations and Warranties clause of your agreement with AiOP? Artist's Representations and Warranties: Artist represents and warrants that: (I) the Project is solely the result of the artistic effort of the Artist

HaFra Eteam That raises an interesting paradox. We claim we did make an artistic effort, yet how can this be proven if we did nothing? It's not new, but in which way is Art obliged or expected to leave traces, objects, images, tangible experiences?
