Dear International Airport Montello,

My name is Catherine Hemelryk and I am writing to apply for the position of Layover Support Crew Member for the International Airport Montello this coming September. I believe I would be an assett to the team as I am resourceful, motivated and thoughtful. As I have a well spoken British English accent I inspire confidence from passengers and clients and I maintain a polite and professional demenour at all times.

I work happily with many facets of society and I have experience of keeping a calm head and diffusing difficult situations. This is in part through my non-threttening demenour: I am five feet two inches tall, freckled and have a lovely smile. When working as a bouncer in the nightclubs of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the north east of England, I was able to swiftly quosh fighting men using glass-bottles as weapons, crowd control and confiscating illegal substances from the cityŒs drug pushers. I am comfortable dealing with all manner of requests from passengers, and I have worked in a hospital liaising with staff, patients and octagenarian volunteers, as well as working with government bodies and foreign ambassadors, factory workers, clerical office staff, artists, navel architects, arts professionals and prisoners at Onley Her Majesty‚s Young Offenders Institute. I am a skilled communicator and have practical knotting and back woods skills also.

Much of my work has involved writing and researching. I have published several science fiction books under various pen names, and I have curated many exhibitions that relate closely to the themes of the International Airport Montello including Airports and Their Structures of Power in a Pressurised Cultural Climate, Negative Dialectics of the Baggage Reclaim, Fly! My Pretties, Britain Bombs America America Bombs Britain (CLUI) and 4 Show: four artists at International Airport Mentollo. Areas of my knowledge and interest are diverse and include animatronic heads, minority running sports, unknown unknowns, Black boxes, the work of Russel T Davies, cable knitting, electro synth pop, moths, sixteenth century torture masks, British stand up, Lithuania, the whole of politics, extreme crafts and Warwickshire.

The temporary nature of this project would benefit me personally as it would allow me to exercise and hone my existing skills, and develop new ones. I have long-term commitments in Lithuania and Germany, and this would provide a welcome step outside my current context and perhaps allow me to gain a perspective on my Eurocentric world. Personally it would benefit me as I could buy some gluten-free bread which is not available in Lithuania. I feel the project would benefit from my company as I am good-natured, as well as having a split personality therefore I can work twice as hard having a Tyler Durden work ethic. Also I can bake great chocolate truffle cakes and enjoy lively discussions.

I look forward to your decision, and please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions you may have.

Yours truly,

Catherine Hemelryk
