We visited the I Wan Yan Troupe at the first day of the Lunar Year of the Ox at the Li Tien-Lu Museum in Sanzhi, New Taipei. The troupe performed a ritual, which was followed by a play that was a part of the “Journey to the West.” After the performance there was pizza, pineapple cookies and everyone rubbed the lottery tickets that came in the red envelopes that were handed out as part of the New Lunar Year celebrations.
