02-08-2006 - MUSIC FOR THE TRANSIT LOUNGE

Hi. Is there an airport band in Montello? Some kind of sound system? Passengers in the Transit Lounge asked what kind of music we are playing to make the waiting time more entertaining? It's a good suggestion. We should add some music to the transit lounge. — eteam 2006/02/08 08:37

This is the Tower… The IAM Transit Lounge is music. Music and of itself is sounding. A Nevada style lounge. And!… Well need I say more?…One sure bet is a sure bet that they'll take your bet. Do you wish to make a wager? Place your bets. Do you want to double down?… Coming out it's a new shooter new direction… E-yo-leven a winner…winner pay the pass line. Music to a gambler's ear! The jingle is the sound of coins being dropped down the slots… You Know… As in slot machines. The music of gambling in action… This is Nevada!…

Lounge acts with live talent and live music. Interviewing is a constant. We have filmed and already have established tapes of performers and auditions. The gaming tables and slot machines are being installed. Last I heard…they're hanging the stage curtains in the main show room. We're getting close… Just waiting for the gaming license to be approved by the State of Nevada (pictures coming) Tower clear 02/08/06 22:44 hrs. (PST)

02-09-2006 - ENTERTAINMENT DEVELOPMENT

airport_vegas_scene.jpg airport_jubilee.jpg

In order to establish what is entertainment. Sarah, Marlene, Jodi, little Eddie and Henry J. are traveling south to Las Vegas. Las Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capitol of the World. In Las Vegas, where we are expecting 70-75 degree weather under sunny skies, we will study what is entertainment. Our original thought was to travel to the Big Apple and visit Broadway and other locations within the city for entertainment. However!… On CNN news they showed a picture of Radio City Music Hall snowed in… New York City and the entire east coast…snowed in…blizzard. So… IAM said all fights into the JFK are cancelled… Simple… A road trip is in order. We'll just take the 7 hour drive through Wild Horse country and pass by Area 51. Las Vegas here we come. 02/11/06 20:09 hrs. PST

While we had fun, walking through the snow, it did not look like there was much entertainment in the JFK Transit Lounge → http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2006/02/12/nyregion/slide4.large.jpg

For all the waiting passengers, I am glad that the IAM lounge will be different. I think, to go to Las Vegas is a good choice. You can combine the research trip with some fundraising activities for the airport. Good luck!

Montello Tower!
How was the Las Vegas entertainment trip? Did the research crew win or just gain? Did they see some good shows, got ideas for the IAM Inflight Entertainment channels?
While you were away, I tried to organize everything written above. Now, I hope, there is a way - to look back, in kind of an organized manner. In case the “Sort by Date and title” method makes sense to you, please use H1 Headlines for dates in the beginning of each entry for this log. Otherwise, just continue the way you were doing things. It's been great so far!

02-23-2006 And now - the cozy version!

Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is a small airport with big aspirations. The recently completed South Terminal and Central Hall have received positive reviews from passengers for their spaciousness and fast-moving yet thorough security checkpoints. The new terminal actually has a warm and welcoming fireplace, a nice antidote to the sterile environment of most airports. from: http://www.ifly.com/edmonton-airport/airport-overview

02/24/2006 - PREPARING DATA TRANSFER

This is the Control Tower reporting on “The Return From The Edge”… The entourage that traveled south through Wild Horse Country passing by Area 51 and then entering Las Vegas Nevada? They have returned!…Safe and questionably sound. The de-briefing process is playing out and soon we are hoping for photos and printable stories.
